Weimaraner Colors : Preferably silver gray; shades of mouse or roe gray.

Country of Origin: Germany.

Coat: Coat can either be short-hiared or long-haired. Either type of coat is can be silver or mouse-colored.

Character: This dog is friendly, eager to work, intelligent, and energetic.

Temperament: Provided proper socialization has taken place, this breed gets along fine with other household pets. The Weimeraner gets along fine with other dogs, and is friendly toward children. Although not unfriendly toward strangers, this dog will protect its family in times of danger.

Care: The short-haired Weimeraner has few grooming neads. Periodically use a rubber brush to remove dead hairs. The long-haired type needs to be brushed and then combed. Its ears must be checked to make sure they are clean.

Training: The Weimeraner is bright enough to understand what is expected of it. It is eager to please its handler, and learns quickly. The handler must be confident, because this dog sometimes tries to dominate.

Activity: This breed needs long walks and would prefer to work at field sports. Three short walks a day would not be sufficient.

Description : Weimaraners, also known as "Silver Ghost", are alert, graceful and fast with stamina and balance. They tend to be one-family dogs, are reserved with strangers and make make good watchdogs. Their owners should have a firm, no-nonsense approach and take time to train and socialize them as puppies. Boundless energy, tireless, driven and a remarkable sense of smell make them great hunting dogs. Well trained Weimaraners are confident and assertive dogs making wonderful companions.
