Coat: Is smooth, short and lustrous. Colors can be chocolate with rust-red, stag red, or black with red markings.
Character: Miniature pinschers are alert, bold, spirited and lively.
Temperament: This breed gets along fine with children, provided it is not pestered by them. Some have been known to be aggressive with other dogs and strangers, however this behavior is not common if proper socialization has taken place.
Care: The coat is easy to groom. It should be brushed and combed periodically.
Training: Training must be consistent. The Miniature Pinscher wants to learn and obeys commands fairly quickly.
Activity: Although its exercise needs are moderate, the Miniature Pinscher needs regular opportunities to run and play.

They are known to be fun loving extroverts, great in the show ring and make clever companions. With lots of energy, they are always on the go. They do well as house dogs and are at their best being the family watchdog.
