Coat: Thick and dense and weather-resistant. Can be black, yellow or chocolate brown. A small white marking on the chest is permissible.
Character: The Labrador is obedient, sociable, affectionate, and loyal. Labradors have a very keen sense of smell.
Temperament: The Labrador gets along well with children, other dogs, and any household pets. They are not great watchdogs.
Care: Brush the Labrador's coat once a week, twice weekly if the dog is shedding.
Training: The Labrador learns very quickly and loves to work for its handler.
Activity: Although they will adapt to the exercise habits of your family, Labradors need plenty of exercise. They need to be taken on long walks, and especially love to take part in field sports.
