Character: Cane Corso are very intelligent dogs. They are loyal and protective of their family. They are docile, gentle with children. This breed can be somewhat agressive to other dogs and strangers.

Temperament: Is not one to go looking for a fight with another dog, but will not back down from one either. Suspicious of strangers. Will be okay with strangers if the family welcomes them.

Care: Requires occasional brushing. Light shedder.

Training: Obedience training is recommended with this breed. Needs to be socialized as a puppy. Easily trained as the dog is very intelligent.

Activity: Needs regular exercise.

Cane Corso Description: Cane Corsos (Italian Mastiffs) are classic mastiffs without the loose skin of geographically related mastiff breeds such as the Neapolitan Mastiff. They are smaller than some of the other mastiff type dogs. Their necks are thick and powerful, typical of all mastiffs. Very loyal, willing to please and quiet around the house, Cane Corsos are highly intelligent and very trainable. They are protective yet gentle, wonderful with children and make excellent guard dogs and watchdogs.
