Coat: Is short-haired. Colors may be tan or reddish-brown, with a darker muzzle and ears. Some white on the chest is permissible.
Character: The Bullmastiff is intelligent, loyal, obedient, and courageous.
Temperament: This dog can be somewhat dominant toward other Bullmastiffs. However, it is very tolerant towards children and can get along with other household pets provided proper socialization has taken place. Unwanted visitors will be driven away.
Care: Periodically remove dead hairs with a rubber brush.
Training: Its handler must be able to demonstrate authority and be consistent. This dog is sensitive to the tone of your voice.
Activity: An average amount of exercise is enough to keep it happy. Give it opportunities to run and play on a leash.
Description : The Bullmastiff breed is one of great strength, endurance and alertness. They are natural guardians of the home and will not back down from a fight. They are known to be loving toward their masters and normally very gentle, cheerful and calm. With strangers, they are rather aloof. Known also as the "gamekeeper's dog" this breed was bred to accompany gamekeepers helping to track and overpower poachers.
