March
2007 Care Tips
Call
the veterinarian to have your dog tested for heartworm,
and start it on preventative medication. Check with
your veterinarian, too, to see if any other vaccinations,
such as Lyme disease and Rabies vaccines, are needed.
Make sure chocolates are not within your dogs reach
at Easter time. Too much candy is bad for your dog,
so don’t hide the children’s Easter egg
candy where the dog can find it. If you have friends
with dogs, stage an Easter egg hunt for them. Use
plastic eggs, and place a small treat or biscuit in
each one. Clean up any winter debris that has surfaced
from under snow piles, such as stray garden tools,
large rocks, or other foreign objects. March can mean
a wet and muddy dog. Stock up on grooming supplies,
including brushes and combs.
